Diesel, who played Dominic Toretto in the Fast and Furious franchise for the past 16 years, worked with Gadot on three films in the series. Gadot portrayed Gisele in Fast and Furious, Fast Five, and Fast and Furious 6, while her character’s picture appeared in Furious 7. Gadot has a five-year-old daughter named Alma with her husband, Israeli hotelier Yaron Varsano, while Diesel has two children with girlfriend Paloma Jimenez, six-year-old son Vincent and two-year-old daughter Pauline. The film surpassed Phyllida Lloyd’s 2008 adaptation Mamma Mia! for the record, which previously stood at $609.8 million. Diesel’s The Fate of the Furious, which has taken in more than $225 million in the states, has made more than $1.23 billion internationally, good enough for the 11th top-earning film of all-time.

Diesel expressed his pride for Gadot’s success in an Instagram post earlier this month, featuring a photo of the two posing together. They are both considered “selfie-stars.”
